A week in Cancun

"Chichen Itza"

I asked him if I could take his portrait. He said proudly his majesty cannot be captured. I said I would try.
I asked him if I he could turn for me. He said he was 900 years old and could not turn. So I moved a hundred yards.

Mountains humble. Pyramids no less.

"Mayas in rural Mexico"

I  asked the Mayas how they were. The old man's face told me all about the five hundred years of Hispanic rule!  I nodded with empathy. The natives always got the worst; both in the North as well as South.

But the children didn't know about it. They are after all children - innocent and bilssful.

"Playa Del Carman Beach"

I asked her if could take her picture. She smiled and rested her arm on her head . Did she understand me? .....well, I took her picture anyways

"Coral reef, Cozumel Island"

65 ft deep in the Caribbean  water I clicked my under water camera. A few fish were caught.

I asked for more. They came in thousands.

"Cozumel Island"

It was great meeting Tal and Crystal Thier fast food center was more than an oasis for a traveler like me.

"Aztec, Xcaret"

I asked  the Aztec if I could take a picture. He said stand next to me.

He  then took me 600 years back in time and showed me the rituals of his ancestors in the Aztec temple.

Highly ornated one of them tried to scare me.

One had an owl mask to make it look scary.

In the evening he lead me to Aztec fire ball game. Fire, fire everywhere! It flew across, jumped and danced amidst the sticks crakling. In the dead of the night with a 100 ASA all that I could get was this impression.

"My hotel Gran' Melia beach"

The morning was brilliant. I asked the cabanas if I could take a picture them. They stood in a line with the sea, the beach and the plants, like a troop.

Hotel Gran' Milia.

I asked the creepers if I culd photogrpah them. They hanged themselves from the 8th floor. Well,  I was never so much impressed by hotel flora. ....Look how tiny the people are?

"Xcaret"

These Papantla players got in to frenzied wizz seeing my camera.

I was wondering how to photograph these working girls. One of them looked at me. A go ahead.

"Aviary, Xcaret"

So did this parrot. To top it it showed off its broad shoulders.

A foreigner with a camera is an usual thing for Mexicanas. I didn't have to ask them for a picture. They posed in unision.
