In a message to some 700 delegates at the sixth International Conference of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) held at the historic landmark Manila Hotel, President Arroyo said the PNAA's conference theme, "Caring for the World, Our Homeland and Ourselves," showed the nurses' deep concern for the well-being of their patients from the perspective of a "global citizenworker."
For his part, Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque said the three-day conference served as an inspiration for working towards raising the bar of excellence in nursing care to meet the global demand for Philippines-trained nurses.
Duque called on the delegates "to strengthen our efforts and renew our commitment in ensuring the best nursing care services for the benefit of our people."
The three-day confab started last Jan. 30.
