University Health and Counseling Services

Primary care through University Health and Counseling Services is coordinated, comprehensive, and personal. Your primary care provider (PCP) is a highly qualified nurse practitioner or a physician and will be the main contact for all your health care needs.

Your PCP knows you and oversees all the services you receive — assisting you with health maintenance, treating illnesses and injuries, and making referrals to specialists whenever indicated. We encourage you to make your appointments with the same primary care provider so you can get to know one another and build a relationship based on trust and confidence.

The Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD), a department within the Division of Student Affairs, strives to help students cope more effectively with personal, emotional and situational barriers to learning; improve students' adjustment to unavoidable stress; integrate students into the University's academic and social milieu; and contribute to their personal growth and development. In order to accomplish these goals, staff assume a variety of roles such as therapist, consultant, program planner, workshop facilitator and trainer.

The Center is committed to meeting the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds including differences of culture, race, age, gender, physical and cognitive ability, spirituality and sexual orientation.

We strive to improve our services and welcome your suggestions. NU's Center for Counseling and Student Development - Individual & Group Counseling

The Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD) offers two kinds of counseling, described in detail on their webpage.

Northeastern University Feminist Student Organization

The Feminist Student Organization, formerly known as the Women's Center of Northeastern University, is designed to encourage the empowerment of women on campus. This organization creates an equitable and positive university environment for all students by creating awareness of women's issues through various activities. The Feminist Student Organization is a resource center for women's organizations in the New England area, nationally and globally, books and references materials on women's studies. The Feminist Student Organization is a gathering place where students can find support and discuss concerns. Led by the strong leadership of Adrianne Ortega, the Feminist Student Organization co-sponsors programs and collaborates with other student organizations on campus.
