I did my Bachelors and Masters from Mumbai University, India, wherefor my Masters I was working on Extremophiles, their pigment profile, using one of these pigments as a natural colorant for textiles, as an anticancer agent and as an environmental heavy metal pollution indicator. I joined the Lewis lab in Fall 2008 with the Unculturables group and I am currently working on studying uncuturable organisms from the human microbiome.
