Biography
Hossein Mosallaei is Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Northeastern University. He received his Ph.D. degree from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in June 2001. From 2002-2005 he was on the faculty of EECS Department at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Research Scientist. Dr. Mosallaei is the Director of Applied Electromagnetics & Optics Laboratory at Northeastern University. He leads research activities in the areas of Modern Electromagnetics, RF-Optical Metamaterials, and Micro/Nano-Scale Devices and Systems.
Dr. Mosallaei is an Associate Editor for IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. He served as the Vice-Chair of IEEE Michigan Trident Chapter (Antennas & Propagation, Microwave Theory & Techniques, Electron Devices) in 2005. He is a senior member of IEEE, full member of URSI, and member of American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is listed in Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World. Dr. Mosallaei is the holder of a U.S. patent in the field of Metamaterials and Composite Media. He is a recipient of SEM IEEE appreciation award for contribution in the advancement of engineering theory and practice, 2001 URSI Young Scientist award, and 2002 Raj Mittra Travel Grant award. He was four times awarded the IEEE AP-S prize for the student papers in 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2005(with his student).
