Faculty Updates

  • Drs. Lifter and Mason received a 4-year, $1.6 million grant from the Institute of Education Sciences (U.S. DOE) to validate the Developmental Play Assessment. Doctoral students Jacquelyn Briesch and Betsy Hemphill are working as SGAs on the project.
  • Drs. Briesch, Hoffman, Li, and Volpe presented their research at the APA convention in August.
  • Dr. Briesch was recently elected to the Editorial Board of the Journal of School Psychology.
  • Dr. Li’s collaboration with Kwong Kow Chinese School in Chinatown on reducing stress of immigrant children was reported on World Journal (????, Chinese newspaper distributed nationwide in the U.S.) on 2010/7/28, and on SAMPAN (the only bilingual Chinese-English Newspaper in New England) on 2010/8/23.
  • In April, Dr. Kruger’s film, Children Left Behind, became the first Northeastern University documentary ever to be licensed to a distributor.
  • Dr. Kruger was awarded the Peterson Prize from Rugters University for his work on behalf of professsional psychology.
